A night of disaster as Xhaka’s clash with Arsenal fans worsens draw result

Arsenal saw a two-goal lead slip off as Crystal Palace struggled to earn a 2-2 draw at the Emirates. It was a night that revealed the uncertainty at Arsenal.

The Swiss international walked off the pitch, ears cupped, telling thousands of unhappy Arsenal fans to ‘f*ck off’ as they reeled out abuses in his direction as he walked towards the touchline when substituted off.

Xhaka wasn’t a popular choice as captain before the 2-2 draw against the eagles, in which the incident only confirmed the fears of those doubting persepectives of having him lead the line with such leadership responsibily.

There wasn’t even a handshake from Unai Emery as Xhaka went off, the midfielder simply removed his shirt and headed straight to the changing room as the boos from home fans rang out.

This was an awful incident for the size of a club Arsenal, a show of embarrassment that’ll trend in the football world which only shows a house divided against itself.

Head coach Unai Emery called for patience after the defeat on Monday at Sheffield United, but going by recent happenings and frustrations there seem to be clearly is very little of that at the Emirates right now.
