Depay credits extraordinary Mbappe, regards him as an inspiration.

The Lyon star has thrown credits at his young counterpart, who has continued his impressive form in front of goal despite his young age. Lauding PSG star’s skills, Lyon Depay described him as an inspiration.

The Dutchman and the 20-year-old French striker share the same stage in French’s top flight football, whose goal records continue to improve consistently.

In the current campaign, Mbappe already has eight goals and four assists from nine matches across all competitions, giving Depay a feeling that it will be difficult to rise above the starlet.

“It will be hard to dethrone Mbappe as the best striker,” Depay said in an interview with Canal+.
“He is extraordinary. I think he’s an inspiration for all the attackers and a nightmare for the defenders. As an attacker, we love to see what he does.”

Depay was quick to express his view about critics undermining the quality of France’s top flight league, by effect minimizing the achievements of attackers like himself, alongside Mbappe, adding that he expects to leave at some point.
