EFCC raids INEC office in Sokoto

Economic and Financial Crime Commission operatives, Sokoto Zonal office raided the Sokoto State office of the National Independent Electoral Commission on Tuesday.
 
According to a source, a petition submitted by an ad hoc staff involved in administering the February 2019 polls claiming obstruction and non-paymentof allowances caused the search.
 
The raid was confirmed to our correspondent by Abdullahi Lawal, EFCC Sokoto Zonal Office Commandant.
 
He added “Yes, it is true we visited the INEC Office, based on petitions before us. Some INEC principal officers were invited, and they are still with us for questioning.
 
“As it is right now, I cannot comment beyond this because investigation is still going on”
