Osinbajo directs as Thursday NEC meeting moved to Tuesday

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo presided on Tuesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, during the monthly National Economic Council meeting.
 
The Vice-President, pursuant to the provisions of the Nigerian Constitution, is the Chairman of the NEC.
 
The NEC meeting, held on a monthly basis, discusses the coordination of economic planning efforts and the economic programmes of the various levels of government.
 
Traditionally, the meeting was held on Thursdays, but this month’s meeting was moved to Tuesday.
 
The council is made up of 36 state governors, the governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, minister of finance, Secretary to the Government of the Federation and other government officials, as well as agencies whose responsibilities depend on the economy.
